Dint think the 3-5-2 formation particulary worked against Mount to be honest. There was no natural width to the game due to the wing backs having to defend whilst attack!
But to be fair to the manager, I heard the system worked well against Bay the previous week.

I think the system can be successful. It may take a few games for the team to get used to and also for the people in midfield to get used to others around them.
It seemed to work better with a sitting midfielder rather than when we were all roaming in the first half of the mount game.
We had a sitting midfielder in the Bay game but not until the last 25 in the Mount game.
I enjoyed it more sitting.... well it had been an all day sess on Saturday! (only a one off in pre-season though)
Bring on the season, that's when you'll see the best of Honley.

Drew two apiece.
Rich Turner gave a penalty away.

So I heard.
I had a tenner on Rich Turner giving a penalty away!
Think we should have a sweepstake on how many penalties he'll give away this season.
I predict at least 4 penalties this season.

Or how many he's gonna win. I bet he'll never beat the three he won at Kirkheaton last year.
