I was bored, wot do you learn from long balls off the wall in 5 aside?
5 asides good played with the correct rules etc, not 30 secs on 2mins off, 5mins on 30 secs off!!!
Plus where is everyone?

5-a-side teaches you to keep possession, move to support the ball player, improves your close control, and improves your finisihing when one on one with the goalkeeper.
What we do teaches you bad habits, with no benefits.
When Gary Jakeman was in charge all his games were two touch and it pissed us off then. There are players who play in the first team who are expected to be creative and take on players. How can you do this when limiting the touches? You should be encouraging them to take players on, practicing the skills that they may use on a Saturday.
Having no goalkeeper means that you are always worried about conceding a goal so you don't over commit yourself. Then you might get sucked in whilst looking for a goal and the opposition just pump the ball up and score a goal that required no skill. This is unrealistic. it doesn't happen like that on a Saturday, so why are we playing like that on a Tueday? Additionally having a goalkeeper fine tunes your finishing ability in close situations. If you don't practice it then how are you supposed to be expected to do it in a game?
I did the hard running, putting the effort in then, so I think I deserved to be rewarded with a good session of 5-a-side. Instead I went home fecked off.

I can only say that concerned un-named players should be brave enough to take their concerns to the manager via the club captain and the first team captain. We do not acieve a great deal by banter on the forum by people not prepared to disclose their names. This year we have a great opportunity to win the first division but we will will win nothing if there is unrest so early in the season. Martin

True Martin - (Doesn't that First Teamer I, II and III sounds like the club captain?) ;D ;D Joking apart, we have an open enough relationship as a team and it's obvious that people are a little 'concerned', so I will bring it to the attention of Edward and Steve. More worrying though is the attendance!  |

I don't think it's a major issue that will effect our performances on Saturdays, but the majority of players who attended training on Tuesday did voice their frustrations.
The boys want to be coached to improve and perform better as a team. Thier frustration lie in the belief that on occasions the sessions that we have don't seem to cater for our needs.
Rich, as first team captain what are your opinions on the matter?

Martin - The players have voiced their concerns to me. Whether they choose to disclose their names or not is not really an issue. I believe though that their thoughts do need to be constructive and descriptive, rather than simply critical, and this is why I requested people to expand on their gripes in this thread.
The bottom dollar is that the lads don't want to upset Eddie because they believe he has a lot to offer the club, but they do want to be coached better.

Me neither Batts, its a bit unfair on us that turn up at 8, do all the running, hill reps and ball work etc. Fair enough people cant make it every week but surely they can make it once every two weeks or at least once every three weeks!!! And where are the second and third teamers??  Roll on Saturday, another three points!!!  |
